Most people living with ALS (Motor Neurone Disease) end up paralysed and unable to communicate with anything but artificial ‘computer’ voices. In one of the world's first large-scale machine learning projects, we found a way to give ALS patients the ability to speak in their own voice, even after it’s gone.
“If you're diagnosed you can now record your voice and keep it in the future"
- Brian Frederick, The ALS Association
Not only did we bring back Pat's voice, but we started a program that lets every single ALS patient bank their voice and recreate it whenever they need to so no one ever has to experience being robbed of their voice.
“ALS has lost this round”
- Pat Quinn, ALS Patient
Thousands of patients around the world have since recorded their voice for free marking Project Revoice as one of the first early successes with AI voice cloning.
